What is the impact on reservation API if we enable this feature?


It only impacts Hotel API and ARI API, the mock distributor can NOT be used in reservation API.

How do we decide which sharing rule should be used?


It depends on how you manage the rates to distributors. 

  • If there is a global management procedure to manage rate plans to control the margins, and hotels choose which rate plans can be offered to distributors, Standardized Rate Plan (SRP) is the best choice.
  • If hotels manage the margins and rate plans by themselves, Hotel Customized Rate Plan (HCRP) is the best choice. But it will impact the procedure to roll out a new hotel to distributors. The calculation rules should be set up in DerbySoft GO in advance.
  • If you don’t want DerbySoft GO to do calculations on rates, or there is no calculation at all but just different rate plans are offered to different distributors,  Total Rate Plan (Only Filter) is the best choice.


Can we mix the sharing rules for different distributors?


Yes, we do support this. You can choose a Total Rate Plan (Only Filter) for those commissionable distributors, and a Standardized Rate Plan (SRP) for those net rate distributors. And we do also support some distributors with ARI sharing, but some distributors are not.

Can the calculation rules be applied in the reservation API in DerbySoft GO? 


NO. The rate calculation only is applied while delivering ARI to distributors. DerbySoft GO doesn’t use it for live-check and reservations. Supplier system should do margin calculation on rates in live check and reservation.

Can we use the same rate plan codes instead of creating a new rate plan code for SRP and HCRP?


Yes. Suppliers can use the same rate plan but different margins for different distributors. DerbySoft GO can do calculations on it.

What is the impaction if the calculation rule is missing to set up in DerbySoft GO for SRP and HCRP?


DerbySoft GO will do nothing on calculation and try to deliver original rates with original rate plans from mock distributors to real distributors. If the original rate plans are not found in Hotel API by the real distributor, DerbySoft GO will discard them. If not, the rates will be delivered to real distributors.

What are the changes in procedure if we roll out a new rate plan? 

  • Total Rate Plan (Only Filter): Nothing change
  • Standardized Rate Plan (SRP): Need to set up the calculation rules in DerbySoft GO
  • Hotel Customized Rate Plan (HCRP): Need to set up the calculation rules in DerbySoft GO
